After 17 years in the catering industry I felt it was the right time and place to try my own thing. I gained valuable experience at the Braeval Old Mill working for Nick Nairn at a Michelin Star level, One Devonshire Gardens, Peebles Hotel Hydro, Leonardo & Company, not to mention a lot of the local pubs in this area.
I purchased the Beech Tree Inn in July 2004 and still I currently have a 10 year plan in place which will hopefully bring many benefits to you and the team that are currently working with me. I know it is impossible to get it right all the time, but as long as we are trying our best then that’s all I can ask. My mission statement is to put the word “customer”, back into "customer service" as I feel too many times we experience poor service.
I am grateful to everyone who visits The Beech Tree Inn, especially to all those who take the time to fill in a comment card, as this is one of the great tools I can use to gauge what you really think of us, whether you think we are getting it right and your helpful suggestions for where we can make improvements.
In March 2008 I also took over the Rob Roy Inn at Buchylvie, which will be run very differently to the Beech Tree in the hope of giving you more choice in the area.
A farmers daughter that has lived locally most of my life who appreciates good, well cooked quality food. I enjoy meeting people and the challenges of dealing with the day to day running of the Beech Tree. In the past I have had various jobs including working at a chartered surveyors, a car dealers aswell as working in a bakery in Holland for 10 years.
I started working at the Beech Tree in May 2005 on a part-time basis, then came to work full-time. I was promoted to Manager at the start of 2007. I enjoy organising the kids club events at the Beech Tree and working with the Healthy Living Award, which has been rewarding and maintaining the high standard at the Beech Tree is a daily objective
I have been working at the Beech Tree for just over four years now, I started off as a waitress, working my way up to supervisor and am now the Assistant Manager. Before joining the Beech Tree team, I worked in a local inn as a chef for nine years before deciding on a change & the new challenge brought me to the Beech Tree.
From time to time you will also find me working in the kitchen at both the Beech Tree & the Rob Roy as Lynne’s right hand when needs must.
